Custom Golf Cage Net for Indoor Training Location
At Gourock.com we have produced and shipped hundreds of custom golf cage nets over the last couple decades, and we specialize in building them from 3/4″ mesh size twisted-knotted nylon netting. Generally speaking, any sizing is available for you to have produced – so getting a properly fitting golf cage net is a big benefit to appearance, function, and reliability for golf ball containment. In this example we are showing a custom cage net made to the sizing of 11′ high X 40′ wide X 10′ deep. The netting in this case was the #15 X 3/4″ twisted-knotted nylon, and the enclosure net was seamed together with 5/16″ polyester rope borders. 1/4″ steel carabiner clips are installed in all upper and lower corners of the net, which are helpful when suspending the netting within the golf cage frame.
In addition to the overall enclosure net, there were also a series of 5 additional golf impact nets included in this job as well. These impact nets were 11′ high X 8′ wide, and built from the thicker #21 X 3/4″ twisted-knotted nylon netting. Each net was 5/16″ rope bordered, and impact panels are included separately and hung independently within the golf cage netting. Golf impact nets in this case are individual baffle and reinforcement layers of netting, intended to take the majority of the abrasion and friction from golf shots. Over time, as repeated golf ball impacts begin to wear on the mesh, the impact panels can be replaced as needed (as opposed to the entire golf cage netting enclosure). This custom golf cage netting was ordered by a scholastic team organization for their indoor golf training location. A custom golf net like this takes about 2 weeks to be fabricated and ready to ship out.
Golf Cage Nets for Cruise Ship Installations
In this next recent example, we are showing a series of netting panels produced for a golf cage framing that is located on cruise ships. One of our commercial netting clients is a firm that outfits cruise ships with a variety of golf related products – and in many cases they require custom nets to install within their framing structures.
Gourock’s client prefers to work with individual netting panels, so that they can install each net separately and adjust the fit/appearance as needed. These nets are built to rectangular sizing with rope bordered edges and some interior rope lines as well, with all dimensions and features based on their preferred sizing for each framing area. Material choice for this type of outdoor golf ball containment purpose is the #21 X 3/4″ type 66 twisted-knotted nylon netting, with braided polyester rope finishing. These particular custom golf cage netting examples show 10 netting panels for a pair of different frames on a couple individual cruise ships. Production timing on 10 nets like these is about 7-10 working days on average.
Golf Simulator Divider Nets
And then in this third custom netting example we are showing the details of some nets needed between hitting bays of a golf simulator training location. The use of protective netting between hitting bays at driving ranges and simulator locations greatly improves overall safety regarding mis-hits, shanks, and errant ball shots. In the majority of golf simulator divider netting projects the recommended product choice is #15 X 3/4″ twisted-knotted nylon netting. Golf simulators are indoors, and your generally want to minimize the visual appearance of nets used in these types of golf hitting environments. The #15 twine thickness is great because it has a strong 125 lb tensile rating, and the knotted nylon construction is very abrasion resistant – while minimizing the amount of physical material in the mesh. The 3/4″ mesh size is optimal for proper golf ball impact containment. The combination of strength and minimal visibility factors make the #15 X 3/4″ DuPont type 66 nylon netting the preferred ball containment safety netting for golf simulator locations.
In this particular project Gourock’s client required 7 netting panels that were built to a customized triangular shape, 8′ high X 8′ wide with an 11′-4″ hypotenuse edge. These golf divider nets were built with square mesh pattern material, and finished-off around the perimeter edges with 5/16″ polyester rope sewn-in. Triangular shaped custom netting panels like these are pretty popular for golf driving bay divider nets, and an order like these 7 netting panels was ready to ship in about 7 working days.
