Basketball Barrier Netting, Customer Photos
Gourock.com supplies nylon netting for basketball barrier installations for all kinds of different users, ranging from large commercial clients to private residential customers. There are a lot of really great options available, from a variety of twine thicknesses and mesh sizes – and since the nylon nets are prepared per-order, you have the ability to order any sizing needed for your project. We have some good netting type selections to take a look at on the Basketball Barrier Netting section of the Gourock site:
One of the most popular selections for home-use and commercial-use basketball barrier netting is the 4″ mesh size twisted-knotted nylon netting. This is a black-colored, square mesh pattern netting – constructed from the DuPontĀ® type 66-728 nylon, and is 100% Made in the USA. There are a couple of options for twine thickness, so that you can go with a lighter-weight net (#15, 1.8mm) or a heavier-weight (#30, 2.3mm) depending on your preferences and expected usage.
Gourock prepares either of those netting options either with or without a 5/16″ rope bordering installed around the perimeter edges – so you can have the material supplied as “bulk” cut sections, or as finished and bordered netting panels.
The 4″ nylon netting works really well when installed between Gourock’s In-Ground Steel Poles, which is a pole/support system that utilizes a ground sleeve/anchor and 2″ pole components. You can view details and installation details about these netting installation poles here:
Many people need barrier netting around their property, driveways, or sport-courts in order to contain basketballs within the play area. This is often due to safety reasons (for instance, keeping balls from rolling into traffic, or out of wooded areas that may have ticks), for convenience (keeping balls from rolling down hills or driveways), and for consideration of neighbors or surrounding property. There are 4 different heights available, which are 8′, 10′, 12′, and 14′. The netting used to hang between the poles can be any length – so you can get as much barrier netting coverage area as you prefer – spacing the poles every 10′-12′, which is the recommended placement interval.
Here is a series of photos from one of our recent customers that utilized Gourock’s steel poles and nylon netting to complete his basketball barrier netting setup at his home. You can click on the images to see them larger – and you can get a good idea of how minimally visual all of the materials and poles are.
He went with the #15 X 4″ knotted nylon netting with a perimeter rope bordering installed. And the netting is connected/spanned between three of the 10′ in-ground poles. And you can also see a personalized addition that he made to increase the tension/fit of the netting by designing a general guy-wire support from some rope, stakes, and hooks.
Looks really great John – thank you again!
