Nylon Netting for Property Protection and Public Safety Considerations
Nylon netting is an ideal choice for property protection and public safety due to its exceptional strength, durability, and versatility. Its high-tensile properties allow it to effectively stop golf balls traveling at high speeds, preventing them from causing damage to homes, vehicles, or other property. Additionally, nylon netting’s resistance to UV rays and other environmental factors ensures long-lasting performance, even in harsh outdoor conditions.
This versatile material finds application in various settings. For instance, along fairways, nylon netting can protect homes and personal property from errant golf balls. In these situations, golf ball netting provides the necessary barrier. In golf driving ranges and golf ball containment locations, it provides a safe barrier to prevent balls from straying into unwanted areas. Furthermore, nylon netting is essential for protecting highways and parking lots near driving ranges and golf courses, safeguarding motorists and vehicles from potential hazards. Finally, golf cage hitting training locations often utilize nylon netting to create a secure and controlled environment for golfers to practice their swings.
For most golf barrier installations, including driving ranges, fairways, and home protection, 1-inch mesh netting is recommended. This netting is available in two twine thicknesses: #18 for extra durability and long-term outdoor use, and #12 for a lighter-weight option suitable for home or property barriers.
If your installation may experience direct, full-velocity golf impacts, such as in golf cages or for close-range protection, 3/4-inch mesh netting is recommended. This denser mesh provides superior protection against high-impact shots and is an excellent choice for golf ball netting needs.
Remember, for protection against close-range golf shots, 3/4-inch mesh netting is recommended. 1-inch mesh is sufficient for balls hit from a distance.
Custom Protective Nets for Property Protection and Safety Solutions
When it comes to protecting property and people from the powerful force of golf balls, custom netting offers numerous advantages over off-the-shelf solutions. By tailoring the netting to the specific dimensions and requirements of your location, you can ensure a more effective, efficient, and aesthetically pleasing barrier.
One of the primary benefits of custom netting is its ability to fit perfectly into your space. Whether you’re protecting homes, businesses, or public areas, custom netting can be designed to seamlessly integrate with your existing structures and landscaping. This not only enhances the overall appearance of your property but also ensures that the netting is securely anchored and able to withstand the impact of golf balls.
Custom netting also allows you to optimize performance. By choosing the right materials, mesh size, and installation method, you can create a barrier that is both strong and durable. This is particularly important for areas that experience frequent golf ball impacts or harsh weather conditions. Custom netting can be designed to withstand the elements and provide long-lasting protection.
In addition to functionality, custom netting can also be tailored to match your aesthetic preferences. With a variety of colors, styles, and finishes available, you can choose a netting solution that complements your property’s overall design. This ensures that the safety barrier doesn’t detract from the visual appeal of your space.
Finally, custom netting offers superior safety characteristics compared to trying to adapt a generic solution. By carefully considering factors such as the speed and trajectory of golf balls in your area, you can design a netting system that provides optimal protection. This can help prevent injuries and property damage, ultimately creating a safer environment for everyone involved.
Generally speaking, custom netting is the ideal choice for golf ball protection. By tailoring the netting to your specific needs, you can ensure a better fit, improved performance, enhanced aesthetics, and superior safety. If you’re looking to protect your property and people from the hazards of golf balls, consider investing in a custom netting solution.
Recent Golf Range Barrier Nets, Custom Sizing and Features
Driving range nets and golf range netting are a Gourock.com specialty, and we offer these types of nets built to order. Every driving range location, golf course site, or fairway protection area needs a unique sizing of barrier netting made – and in many cases there are also some additional customized features requested by our customers as well. For golf barrier netting projects the recommended netting type is 1″ mesh size twisted-knotted nylon. Gourock.com offers a couple of excellent twine thickness selections in this mesh type, and for commercial driving ranges and organizational golf facilities the #18 twine thickness is the preference in most cases. #18 X 1″ twisted-knotted nylon netting from Gourock is a tarred material, which is a production type that specifically enhances the netting’s resiliency and durability to outdoor elements, UV exposure, and moisture. The very strong 191 lb. tensile rating of #18 twine, along with a low wind shear %, make this golf netting excel in wind and for longterm outdoor installations.
Here is a great example of a recent netting project that Gourock.com produced and shipped for a commercial driving range client. This barrier safety net was produced to the sizing of 25′ high X 100′ long. Our customer had an installation structure on-site that consisted of 5 poles on 25′ intervals, with tensioned cables running along the top, the bottom, and also through the middle of the height as well. The corresponding golf barrier netting panel that was ordered and made for them included 5/16″ polyester rope bordering around the full perimeter of the netting panel, as well as support ropes running vertically though the mesh every 25′ (to line up with their poles) and then horizontally through the mesh at 12′-6″ (to line up with the central cable). A custom golf range net like this is typically manufactured and ready to ship out within 2 weeks of the order being placed.
Ball Impact Containment Netting with Unique Shape Designs and Sizing Needs
For situations in which golf balls need to be effectively contained within spaces that are subjected to close-range high velocity impacts, the proper netting choice to be utilizing is the 3/4″ mesh size twisted-knotted nylon netting. The 3/4″ mesh golf containment netting from Gourock.com is available in a couple different twine thicknesses – and for instances of high abrasion and consistent impacts, the #21 twine thickness is recommended. #21 X 3/4″ DuPont® type 66 twisted-knotted nylon netting features 2.0mm twine thickness and a minimum tensile strength rating of 210 lbs. This is the netting choice for projects such as commercial golf cage nets, golf hitting and training nets, golf ball baffle netting, and similar sport netting needs in which closely impacted golf balls need to be properly contained.
Here is a recent example of a commercial golf netting production that was completed for one of our appreciated clients that installs netting on cruise ships. Their needs were for custom netting panels for an existing framing that was already on the ship – and the intention was to allow for people to hit and drive golf balls within the structure. In this case the framing structure incorporated some unique shape features within its design – so a variety of these golf containment netting panels needed to be built with tapers and angles (to line-up well with the framing). In total, there were 32 netting panels in the job – all manufactured from the #21 X 3/4″ nylon golf impact netting, and wit 5/16″ polyester rope bordered edges. This job was completed and ready to ship out within 3 weeks of the order being placed.
Home Protection Netting to Block Errant Golf Balls and Prevent Damage
Finally, in this third recent custom golf ball netting example we show a unique tapered netting panel that was produced for a private property owner. In this case our client needed to have barrier netting suspended within a gabled area of a residential home. He had long-term issues with errant golf balls from a closely fairway causing impact damage to the house, and required protective netting that was designed to line-up with the slope of the roofline and the area underneath. In this case the best choice for the golf barrier netting was the #12 X 1″ tarred twisted-knotted nylon, with 5/16″ polyester rope bordered perimeter edging. The 1″ mesh size is perfect for golf ball exclusion performance, which protects the area of need. And the #12 twine thickness is a 1.7mm twine thickness with a dependable 100 lb. tensile rating – making it an optimal netting choice to minimize the amount of material, the visibility, and the weight of the panel. All while taking care of the needed protection against incoming golf balls to ensure the safety of people and property underneath. This custom tapered protective net was built and shipped in 7 working days from the order being placed.
Many thanks again to all of our custom netting customers and clients! We appreciate your continued business very much, and at Gourock.com it is out pleasure to be your trusted customized netting supplier for all of your protective net needs!
