Examples of Recent Custom Batting Cage Netting Jobs for Context and Reference
To help with your research into baseball nets and softball netting, here are 3 relatively recent examples of customized hitting cage nets that were facilitated by Gourock for different types of customers that were seeking hitting netting and ball containment netting solutions at their training locations. Each of these projects were speciality built to unique sizing, with different construction features, and from #36 X 1-3/4″ DuPont® Type 66 Twisted-Knotted Nylon Netting.
In this first example we are showing a custom batting cage net that was ordered by a high school located in western Washington State for the girls softball program. This hitting cage net was constructed to match a new construction of a semi-indoor batting and training facility they were building, which was to have the netting suspended within a pavilion-style structure – allowing for a covered batting cage and hitting space. In this case the netting was requested to be double-wide so that the entire area was enclosed with containment mesh, to the overall dimensions of 14′-6″ high X 27′ wide X 60′ long. Also included in this netting order was a secondary divider panel net of 14′-6″ X 62′ that was to be installed independently within the enclosure – allowing for the space to be separated into two individual batting tunnel areas. One end panel of the batting cage net included 3′ overlapping netting entrance areas to function as doors into the enclosure. And then finally there were ceiling line ropes on 6′-9″ spring intervals to line-up with the upper cables/wires that the netting was to be clipped to and suspended from within the pavilion structure. All remaining edges of the nets were rope bordered as well. This custom netting production was completed and ready to head to our customer within 3 working weeks of the order being placed.
In this second custom hitting cage net example we show a 15′ high X 16′ wide X 56′ long batting enclosure that was built for a private property owner in Montana. He had constructed a building for sports training at his location, and was seeking a batting cage net to suspend inside of it. In this case, the netting design featured one central ceiling line rope, and had a 3′ overlapping netting entrance door located in one of the end panel corners for easy entrance and exit from the netting enclosure. This batting cage net was built and shipped to our customer within 10 working days of the order being placed.
And in this third example we present the details of a custom batting tunnel net that was ordered by a little league organization in Virginia. In this case they already had a framing structure of posts and poles that were located within a covered area of their stadium location, and needed a new replacement net that had the finished dimensions of 12′ high X 16′ wide X 74′ long. All edges of this net were 5/16″ polyester rope bordered, including a single central rope down the ceiling as well. In addition they also ordered new replacement cabling hardware items from us as well – including 3/16″ galvanized steel aircraft cable, 3/8″ galvanized steel turnbuckles, 3/16″ galvanized steel cable clamps, and 1/4″ galvanized steel carabiner-style snap hook clips. The hardware items were packed and shipped out immediately, and the custom hitting cage net was constructed and shipped out within 7 working days of the order being placed.
